Tilehurst traffic management: good, bad or ugly?

Is there a stretch of road that drives you mad? Are there places where you feel afraid as a pedestrian? Or do you think parts of Tilehurst have been successful in limiting the dominance of cars?

There’s still plenty of time to enter our online photo contest on the subject of “Tilehurst – the Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. The competition is free to enter, open to all, and we have £300 in cash prizes to give away. Whilst the technical quality of the entries will be a factor in choosing the winners, the judges will be more interested in pictures that tell a story about Tilehurst and convey what really matters to the photographer about the neighbourhood.

Please visit the contest online for more details, or you can upload photos directly from this link.

I only visit my dad in Cranmer close Tilehurst RG31 6FL,…he moved from westwood glen where I grew up,..and as he tells me in the old Reading maps its shown as The Gutter..Dad moved to cranmer close in 2000,..In westwood glen my grandmother lived in a cottage ,..on one side of us,.it became listed before she died in 1981. Tilehurst has changed but the traffic calming in Long Lane,..has limited the car dominace a bit.Wish we had it here in west London where I moved to with my late husband in 2002,..Still my favourite village.
